DIY Wedding Decor

One of the weddings this summer was of an architect friend of mine, M. She wanted to do a DIY wedding with a lot of industrial elements. She had a vision and several of us helped carry it out with her. The Backdrop The Detail We used purple carnations, baby’s breaths and a few eucalyptus branches along with some other greens. We used wreath metal rings that you can find at the Dollar Tree. We separated each wreath wire and got 4 circles out of each one! #frugal Then used floral wire to wrap the greens and flowers around the rings. The Center Pieces You can learn how to make the geometric “cage” from Home Talk blog. Additionally, we used aluminum cans as vases to put in the center of the “cage.” The Party Favor You can learn how to make these at Ugly Duckling House blog. Can you tell I’m…

A Tropical Brunch

*This post contains affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you if you make a purchase using my links.* It’s summertime which means its also wedding season! So naturally, I have two weddings to attend. This also means I am going to be hosting a party or two and helping with the planning. Which are some of the things I love doing! Here is the setup for the first one I did just this past weekend. I had a brunch at around 11 a.m. with a tropical theme. It was set up in the patio and I kind of went crazy and designed all sorts of fun stationery to go with the whole thing. GARLAND I started off by making a garland that I made from real and fake plants. I literally went into my friend, D’s yard and asked if I could pick some…

A DIY Winter Engagement Photo Backdrop

This post could be irrelevant but the snow this week proves that it’s still winter! #climatechange is real ya’ll! Okay, so at the end of last year, on New Year’s Eve a friend of mine got engaged! Wooohoo! So naturally, I offered to help set up a bit of decor. Our engagements are pretty much watching the guy awkwardly put the ring on the girl, everyone taking a million photos and then having a huge delicious feast afterwards. I provided the background of the “ring ceremony” photos. It was pretty simple and was done in under two hours!  Probs could have spent more time on the flower arrangement in the vase, but you get the idea. What You Need: -Flowers and greens of your choice -Twine -Floral wire -Scissors -Candles of different sizes -Ferry lights -Vase (optional) What You Do (roughly): 1. Take the twine and wrap the flowers around…
