Hello readers (hopefully people beyond my family and friends as well),
After being born in Magburaka, Sierra Leone and living in five other places in the past several years, I have been fortunate enough to travel and see a few places around the world. And in doing so, I’ve decided I should write about my experiences.
I have a Bachelor’s in Interior Design along with a Graphic Design Certificate and have been working as a Production Artist for various stationery design companies which I REALLY enjoy. Besides my love for design and everything creative, I have learned that I am also really passionate about traveling and food (eating it, making it and looking at pictures of it).
As much as I love traveling, I have also realized that I don’t always have to buy a ticket abroad just to fulfill my appetite for new places and adventures. I can do it by discovering the place I actually live in as well. I think often times people (including myself) are so determined to get out of the country they are living in to travel that they forget that beauty is everywhere, we just have to find it. In the words of one of my favorite poets, Rumi, “Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it.”
I recently moved to the suburbs of Chicago from the suburbs of Los Angeles, which was not the easiest change (mainly due to the weather difference and leaving the beaches and good friends behind) but I decided to make the most of it. I’ve been exploring, wandering, and eating my way through Chicago and I have to say it has been pretty fun, minus the weight gain.
So, the purpose of my blog is to share my current experiences as well as some old ones and hopefully along the way inspire you to also go out exploring to find new places and try new things.
