This post could be irrelevant but the snow this week proves that it’s still winter! #climatechange is real ya’ll!
Okay, so at the end of last year, on New Year’s Eve a friend of mine got engaged! Wooohoo! So naturally, I offered to help set up a bit of decor.
Our engagements are pretty much watching the guy awkwardly put the ring on the girl, everyone taking a million photos and then having a huge delicious feast afterwards.
I provided the background of the “ring ceremony” photos.
It was pretty simple and was done in under two hours!
Probs could have spent more time on the flower arrangement in the vase, but you get the idea.
What You Need:
-Flowers and greens of your choice
-Twine
-Floral wire
-Scissors
-Candles of different sizes
-Ferry lights
-Vase (optional)
What You Do (roughly):
1. Take the twine and wrap the flowers around it with floral wire. Kind of like this. Twist the floral wire around the flower stems and the twine to keep it in place.
2. Hang the garland in the middle of the mantle, hang ferry lights vertically equidistant across the fireplace and place candles on the mantle and on the sides.
3. You can also get two side tables and put them on either side of the fireplace and decorate them with candles and a vase of flowers. (Optional)
Here is another tutorial to make similar flower garland from AFloral.com. 😀
I loved doing this and I think it turned out great! What do you think?

Wow you’re such an awesome friend! I’ve never heard about a ring ceremony for engagement but it’s an interesting tradition. Is it a tradition after all? Anyways, the fireplace looks amazing and I’m wishing all the best for the future wedding 😉
