I feel so grateful to continue checking off my bucket list destinations one by one. Just like Iceland, Lake Como has been on my list for a long time! Also, I’ve always been intrigued by the famous Duomo in Florence. So, I finally planned this trip, the second one ever with my mom! The first one was right before the pandemic, when I took her to Spain. Getting There We were going for a wedding in the UK and decided to take a trip to Italy from there. What I did was book two separate tickets. I booked a round trip ticket from US to UK. Then, booked a separate roundtrip ticket to Milan, Italy from London, UK. This made the cost cheaper! I ended up paying $300 per ticket to Milan but originally when I was looking, it was $70-$150. Lesson: if you plan ahead enough, you can get…
A Road Trip on the Ring Road in Iceland
Iceland is every nature lovers dream! This country had been on my bucket list for a very long time and when I heard it was opening to tourists again in 2021, I knew I had to go immediately. After a year of no international travel, this seemed like the safest destination at the time (outdoor explorations). There were no reported COVID cases in the country and you could enter with proof of vaccination, so it was easy enough. It took me a year to make this post because there was just too much to cover. I did my best to be as helpful and informative as possible. I hope you enjoy my thoughts as well as the photos that most definitely do not do justice to it! Getting There I took a direct Icelandair flight from Dulles International to Reykjavik, Iceland from July 3-11, 2021. It was about a 6…
Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
I honestly don’t know how to describe this place. It is the most magical place I’ve been to so far. It’s beauty transcends everything I’ve seen! If you ever find yourself in Guatemala, you should make it a point to visit Lake Atitlan and you MUST go for more than just a day. Lake Atitlan is a volcanic crater lake located in the south western highlands of Guatemala. Besides the views, it’s known for its Mayan villages. Each town is so diverse and even has their own textile patterns which tells them apart from town to town. There is so much to see and do here but in our short 2 day trip, all we wanted to do was sit and admire the beauty. How to get there from Antigua: Our hotel in Antigua offered transportation to the lake for just $11 per person! I noticed that lots of hotels…
Antigua, Guatemala

It truly is a gem of a country and more people need to go visit it! My friend, A has been going there for years, multiple times in a year and I never understood why. Yes, the photos she took were nice and I always imagined wanting to go at least once. But never did I think that I would want to come back. I usually want to go see newer places. But man, there is something so magical about the country that I can’t quite describe it. I will definitely be back (God willing)! For now I just want to break it down to what I did while i was there. Accommodation: Hotel…
Exploring US Cities: More From Detroit, Michigan
I’ve been to the Detroit area before; however, ever since my parents moved here, I have been going back more often and have discovered many new places! On one of the recent trips, I had a chance to go into the actual city and explore other places around the area. The Places I Visited Heidelberg Project Before the trip, I had researched a few places to check out and kept coming across this community art project, Heidelberg Project. It was started by Tyree Guyton, who upon returning to the street where he grew up, found it in a state of disaster. With the help and encouragement of his grandfather, he cleaned it up and ultimately turned it into a huge art installation. In 1988 they turned this effort into the Heidlberg Project whose mission is to “inspire people to appreciate and use artistic expression to enrich their lives and to improve…

Quebec City – Quebec, Canada
*This post contains affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you if you make a purchase using my links.* After spending a day and a half in Montreal, we left to get to Quebec City which was about a 3 hour drive from Montreal. The rain had followed us there but luckily it wasn’t as bad. DAY 1 Our Hotel: Best Western Plus Centre-ville/City Centre Québec This hotel was about $87 a night, we stayed for two. It was a good deal for it’s location, just an 8 minute drive to Old Quebec. Plus, I am starting to realize, that it is always better to travel in packs of 4, that way splitting everything is so much cheaper! I recently did a one day trip to NYC with 3 friends and it ended up being only $39 per person including gas and everything we ate, and…
The Streets of Pakistan
As you can tell by the title of this post, I have finally started sorting through photos of my recent trip to Pakistan and I am so excited to share it all with you! This country, which my parents are from is one that is full of diverse cultures, a rich history and delicious food. Although I wasn’t born in Pakistan, I did move here when I was only 6 months old. I lived there for about 6 years in a town called Rabwah (now known as Chenab Nagar) which is located next to the River Chenab in the province of Punjab. The country itself is located in South Asia and is the 6th most populous in the world with over 197 million people! Getting to Chenab Nagar from the airport in Lahore is an experience in itself. Most of the highway is nicely paved, however as soon as you get…

A Majestic Sunset on the Susquehanna
For this post, I really don’t want to say much except that I planned an evening out with my friend, T and we unexpectedly got to experience one of the most magical sunsets ever! (I have decided that I’m going to start using initials in my posts from now on instead of saying “my friend” all the time.) Originally, we had decided to meet up at Home 231 (a restaurant) after she got off work. But as I was driving on Front St. to get to the restaurant, I noticed the river was foggy and continuously changing. I thought to myself there is no way I’m not stopping here for a bit. So I called up T and told her to meet me at the river first. She was so glad that I did because just look at these photos! Shout out to T for being a natural model! Is there a…
