Road Trip: Los Angeles > San Francisco > Las Vegas – Part II

*This post contains affiliate links. Day 3 San Francisco, CA to Bakersfield, CA Stop 1: Crissy Field, San Fancisco After eating breakfast, we headed up towards San Francisco. We went straight to Crissy Field to see the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, which was on the top of my friend, S’s list. We could have seen it up close and personal from the bridge itself, but I think we preferred this because it was less crowded here. There is a little hike here where you can go up and get better views. I only went up a little bit. Stop 2: Cod Mother’s Fish & Chips on Fisherman’s Wharf This was also another taco place…

Road Trip: Los Angeles > San Francisco > Las Vegas – Part I

I did a crazy thing last month and it was absolutely incredible! My friend, S and I did a 5-day road trip from LA to San Francisco to Vegas and back to LA. I say this was crazy because it was a lot of driving in the last end of the trip! It was also crazy because I planned it last minute. I was in the west coast for a week and S and I hit the road the day that I landed! I landed in Orange County, had lunch with a couple of friends and then started to heard up north. I will break the trip down in two parts because I have so many photos I want to share. Day 1 Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo (SLO) After having lunch in the OC at Eat Chow, and gelato from Scoops, we headed for San Luis Obispo. This…

A Road Trip – LA to Chicago Day 3: Broken Arrow, OK & Springfield, MO

Since this was during Thanksgiving break, there was no way I was missing out on a good turkey meal! The most memorable part of that night was the pecan pie and the bed in which I slept. Oklahoma knows how to make pecan pies and beds! Apparently they also have a huge corn festival every summer which is on my list of things to do; I love corn. So, Oklahoma, I will be back for you! We made a spontaneous stop at the salt mines in…

A Road Trip – LA to Chicago Day 2: Albuquerque, NM & Amarillo, TX

*This post contains affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no additional charge to you if you make a purchase using my links.* Okay, so after the Grand Canyon we kept driving and stopped in Albuquerque, NM to spend the night there. We decided we would have some sort of steak/burger dinner here since we had been so good at not spending our money on anything besides gas for day one. This some how ended up being a fail. Probably one of the first times yelp has ever failed me. We went to a place called Frontier Restaurant with over 700 reviews and 4 stars. I can’t remember exactly what we had but I remember a burger and a steak. They lacked flavor, maybe we didn’t order the right thing? Whatever the case, think before you go there. Anyway, the cheap gas in this state made up for the…

A Road Trip – LA to Chicago Day 1: Grand Canyon, AZ

*This post contains affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no additional charge to you if you make a purchase using my links.* I guess I should start by talking about how I got to Chicago. Well, I road tripped with two friends. And. It. Was. Epic! This was the longest road trip I had done sans family which was a pretty big deal. I think this is the appropriate time to tell you that I come from a very traditional conservative Pakistani Muslim family. Unmarried girls don’t usually do this sort of thing. Which may come as a surprise to most of the western world where as soon as you hit 18 you are allowed to do pretty much anything you want and essentially no one can stop you. Well, if I was moving to Chicago, this was the only way I was doing it and I’m so…
