I love it when I come across people who share amazing ideas! After posting my latest freebie (Eid Mubarak Coloring Page), I was contacted by @hafsacreates to ask if I could scale it down to fit 4 on a page so she could cut them out and distribute them to kids at the mosque after Eid prayers (as coloring “postcards”). Of course I thought it was an excellent idea! So I immediately went to work on resizing the design and sent her the file. Before I knew it, she had them printed, cut and displayed on her social media! And since I have the file already, I decided to share it with you all as well. Just subscribe to my newsletter below to access it along with other free coloring pages. When you download and print the page, just cut along the 4 rectangles, attach a couple of crayons and…

Badshahi Mosque – Lahore, Pakistan
The next stop on our historic sightseeing in Lahore was Badshahi Mosque. This was my second time visiting the mosque and I was as mesmerized by it this time around as I was the first time I saw it. It’s located near Lahore Fort and is probably one of Lahore’s most iconic landmarks. The mosque is a Mughal-era architecture which was commissioned by Emperor Aurengzeb in 1671 and was completed within two years. Its exterior is made of carved red sandstone with marble inlay. The interior also has carved marble and elaborate plasterwork. At the time of completion, it was the largest mosque in the world and now is the second largest mosque in Pakistan itself. You have to climb about 20 or so steps to get to the entrance. From the entrance you have a view of the gate of Lahore Fort (my next stop). After taking in the view of the massive gate,…

Blueberry & Mascarpone Cream Trifle
One of my all time favorite things is mascarpone cheese! IT’S SO GOOD!! I came across it when I had tiramisu for the first time ever and looked up how to make it. (Recipe for another day.) This recipe is so easy and delicious and is the last one I’ll be sharing from that Tea Party from February! Ingredients: -1 pint whipping cream -4 oz. Mascarpone cheese -1/2 cup confectioners sugar -1 packet of sponge cake dessert shells (I use these from Walmart) -1 cup or more blueberries -small trifle cups (I made them in these plastic cups for a super easy cleanup) Instructions: 1. Whip the cream in a bowl just until it starts thickening up a bit. Then, add the mascarpone cheese. Add sugar slowly and whip until it becomes creamy. Taste the sweetness as you go and add according to your taste. I don’t like my desserts to…

Tomb of Jahangir – Lahore, Pakistan
So basically, my trips to Pakistan consist of spending time with my family and eating amazing food. Since we go after many years and for short periods of time it’s hard to do too much sightseeing. However, we did manage to squeeze one day for it, in the city of Lahore. When our driver picked us up, he assumed we wanted to go to all the biggest shopping centers in the city. When we told him we weren’t interested in shopping and instead wanted to see some historic sites, he was shocked. I think mainly because that is what a lot of people like to do when they go to Pakistan, things are a bit cheaper. We saw four sites in one day (with 2 kids under the age of 4)! My family and I have a knack of squeezing too many things in one day! lol Our first stop…
