I know Thanksgiving has long passed and I’m super late with this but I wanted to share it anyway. I’ve made turkey three times before and each time I got compliments on how juicy it was. I’ve only ever done it by brining it. Each time I’ve added different things to the brine but I think this time it was the best one and now I have it right here for you! For this one, I was inspired by Food Network’s Anne Burrel’s recipe. Ingredients: -1 15-18 lb turkey -3/4 salt kosher salt -1/3 cup sugar -2 onions, diced -2 carrots, diced -4 celery ribs, diced -1 garlic bulb, cut in half -2 tsp rosemarry -2 tbs coriander seeds -2 tbs fennel seeds -6 bay leaves -1 tsp crushed red pepper -1 tsp red chili powder -1 orange cut in half, with peel For the spicy herb butter: -2 sticks butter…

DIY New Year’s Photo Booth
I did this photo booth last year but never got a chance to share with you. It’s still relevant this year, you just have to change the number 7 to 8 if you want to try this out. It’s super easy, festive and fun especially for the kids. Having four nieces, I am always finding fun things to do with them. Last year, some of their friends also came and we had lots of fun taking photos. What you’ll need: -kraft paper roll -colorful construction paper -yarn or string of any kind -markers -balloons -streamers -lights -tape -scissors -dollar store New Year’s props (optional) What you do: 1. measure how much kraft paper you will need to cover a good portion of a wall, cut it and then tape it on the wall. (I cut 2 large pieces so the width is pretty big) Since we have low ceilings in…
My Thanksgiving
So I finally got a chance to sit down and write this post about my Thanksgiving. I know I am late but I had a busy and amazing weekend full of lots of food, fun and laughter with the family. My sister and I were hosting the big dinner at her house for ~15 people and I was tasked to make the turkey. I had done it twice before but still was nervous. I had only ever done it by brining it and that’s exactly how I did it the third time as well. Although my sole responsibility was to not screw up the turkey, I couldn’t help myself and make a couple of other things too. I tried a new dip (I LOVE chips and dip). This time it was a jalapeno popper dip. In addition, I also decided to make strawberry and cream cheese pastries using puff pastry…

Quebec City – Quebec, Canada
*This post contains affiliate links. I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you if you make a purchase using my links.* After spending a day and a half in Montreal, we left to get to Quebec City which was about a 3 hour drive from Montreal. The rain had followed us there but luckily it wasn’t as bad. DAY 1 Our Hotel: Best Western Plus Centre-ville/City Centre Québec This hotel was about $87 a night, we stayed for two. It was a good deal for it’s location, just an 8 minute drive to Old Quebec. Plus, I am starting to realize, that it is always better to travel in packs of 4, that way splitting everything is so much cheaper! I recently did a one day trip to NYC with 3 friends and it ended up being only $39 per person including gas and everything we ate, and…
